HEALTH, WEALTH, HAPPINESS & SUCCESS

To make the traditional Cowboy the modern global standard of prosperity.

Western Sports Foundation is a partnership committed to preserving the legacy of the cowboy through personal and professional development resources designed to help Western sports athletes thrive in the arena—and in life.

Western athletes are not your typical “athlete”. For 90% of their career, their team is their family, their parents, spouse, or traveling partner. They don’t have a “coach,” they don’t have a booster program, and have limited resources, if any. Western athletes spend their nights driving to make their next event, paying to enter and collecting nothing, if they don’t place. Injured—they’re paying.  Break equipment—they’re paying.  They don’t have a team of trainers, dieticians, sports psychologists or crisis managers following them from town to town.  If they need those services, they must find them.  Western Sports Foundation fills that gap.  A resource for the immediate, but also the long-haul. A part of their team.

Why Western Sports Athletes?

The Partnership

The cowboy’s greatest asset is his friends. We know, as an organization, that people are our most valuable asset. This key group of contributors directly impacts our ability to fulfill our mission as an organization.

  • Behind the scenes of everything we do are teams of passionate people who are dedicated to fulfilling Our Mission:

  • The work of WSF is fully funded by donations from generous individuals and corporate sponsors; enabling us to offer our services at little or no cost. It's inspiring, the impact a group of people can make when they come together for a common cause.

  • Your support is invaluable to us, in every form. From the news media to our followers on social media, helping spread awareness about our services and events plays a tremendous role in our continued success and growth.

Our History

In less than 8 seconds, a mission was born...

In 1998, Jerome Davis’ career-ending injury spurred the establishment of The Rider Relief Fund; it was a proactive, organized effort to provide financial assistance to athletes and their families throughout recovery from sport-related injuries. From these roots grew a larger effort to not only financially assist injured athletes, but provide additional resources that promote Total Wellness in all areas of athletes’ lives. This is Western Sports Foundation, as we know it today.

Research, development and implementation of resources that promote personal and professional development for rodeo & western sports athletes drives success both in and out of the arena. The impact ripples throughout our industry increasing individual performance, event attendance and viewership, bigger purses, more valuable partnerships, and greater mainstream awareness of (and appreciation for) Western Lifestyles.
